Bird Booster

This is the Bird Booster, an original prototype I made for my bird to train her to fly.

My invention is a perch attached to a spring mechanism that can be compressed and released by a remote-controlled motor. This motor rotates a barrel underneath the perch, which compresses the perch just enough that when the motor is released, it gently boosts the perch up. This ultimately gets the bird to fly.

Over time, the bird won’t need this boost because she’ll understand the association between command and action.

I want to be clear; this post isn’t one where you just download some files, run them through a slicer program, and then press print on your 3D Printer. I made my Bird Booster out of parts that were lying around my house. I used PVC pipe, paracord, an old RC Car, and a piece of junk wood. I didn’t need to use my 3D Printer, but I used it because it was easier than making it by hand. However, someone could make this without one if they felt like it. I understand that this is a 3D printing site; however, I believe that my Bird Booster can serve as an example that you don’t need fancy machinery and expensive materials to manifest your ideas. All you need is an idea and a will to make it.
