How to create Transparency Around Clipped Index Features for a Map Series in ArcGIS Pro – April 24, 2023 at 04:44PM

I created a spatial map series in Pro and need to figure out how to create selective focus of the showcased elements. My boss said to add transparency, but I have no idea how to do this while also making sure the index layer stands out. I hope I articulated that well.

Basically the index layer polygons show up in every map of the series. I just want to make it so that the polygons being showcased are clearly visible while making the surrounding layers and elements a little more transparent so that the map doesn’t look so busy.

I know how to adjust the transparency for basic symbology, but have never tried or attempted within a map series.

Please help 😭
