Fort McHenry is a star-shaped fort in Baltimore Harbor. The fort is best known as the location where Francis Scott Key saw the American flying over the fort in September 13-14, 1814 during the defense of Fort McHenry and used that as inspiration to write The Star-Spangled Banner.
