Trends with Benefits: Digging into Apple’s new arsenal

Apple dropped an armload of new products this week, which means we have plenty to discuss! The iPhone 6S won’t look any different from the outside, but there are some pretty interesting developments happening inside. We discuss the virtues of 4K video, 3D Touch, and Live Photos. Why does Apple still insist on offering only 16GB of storage in the base iPhone? We have a theory for that, too.

The iPad Pro was undoubtedly Apple’s biggest announcement, both literally and figuratively. But does bigger actually going to be better? Matt thinks this is Apple’s attempt to take iOS into mainstream computing. Will a tablet ever replace the need for a laptop or desktop? It depends who you are.

Then there’s the competition with Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3. Brad discusses his comparison article and the rage commenters have worked themselves into for daring to compare Apple and Microsoft products.

Commenters will be disappointed to learn that Brad does not, in fact, kill himself. Sorry.

Caleb Denison then sashays in for an impromtpu overview of the new Apple TV. The verdict: He is excited! This appears to be something that Apple is doing in the right way, from the new controller, to improved Siri. There’s a ton of potential in the updated set top box.
