No matter how you feel about the upcoming remake of Point Break, one thing we can all agree on is that the latest trailer packs a lot of action into 150 seconds.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new preview of Point Break, a remake of the 1991 action film that cast Keanu Reeves as an undercover FBI agent investigating a group of criminals led by a charismatic extreme-sports aficionado played by Patrick Swayze.

The new film casts The November Man actor Luke Bracey as Johnny Utah, a young FBI agent tasked with infiltrating a group of thrill-seekers who also might be the group of thieves responsible for a series of fantastic heists. The group’s leader, Bodhi, is played by The Bourne Ultimatum and Wrath of the Titans actor Edgar Ramirez.
In the new trailer, we get a few more details about the criminal group’s motives in pulling off high-stakes crimes involving wingsuits, sheer-face snowboarding, high-speed motorcycling, rock climbing, and of course, some ridiculous surfing sequences. It’s uncertain whether Bracey’s character will retain the college-football quarterback element of his back story, as the trailer doesn’t allude to anything along those lines.
Along with Bracey and Ramirez, the film stars Ray Winstone (The Departed), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), and Delroy Lindo (Gone in Sixty Seconds). The film also features actor James Le Gros, who played one of the criminals in the 1991 film, as an FBI agent in the remake.
The film is directed by Invincible filmmaker Ericson Core, from a script penned by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen).
The original Point Break was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and earned more than $83 million worldwide when it was released in theaters in 1991. It quickly became a fan-favorite movie that exemplified early-’90s action films for many movie fans.
Point Break is scheduled to hit standard and 3D theaters Dec. 25.
