Dragon Fantasy, Shift DX next up from Bit.Trip series publisher

Bit.Trip series developer Choice Provisions has announced its upcoming slate of indie releases for consoles and PCs, revealing that the polarity-switching puzzler Shift DX and a Dragon Fantasy sequel are due to launch in the coming months.

Choice Provisions, previously Gaijin Games, debuted in 2007 with a series of rhythm-driven action games under its Bit.Trip label, including Bit.Trip Beat, Bit.Trip Runner, and Bit.Trip Flux. Its initial games were later bundled in a pair of compilation releases for the Wii and 3DS, and an HD sequel to Bit.Trip Runner launched in 2013.

Choice Provisions has since adopted a publishing model for fellow indies, releasing the first two games under its Choice Publishing brand earlier this year. The company’s first published titles include the PS4 and Steam shoot-’em-up Shutshimi and Muteki’s retro-styled RPG Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria for the Wii U, 3DS, and PCs.

The publisher continues its partnership with Muteki for the upcoming launch of Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice for Nintendo’s 3DS, Wii U, and Steam. Originally published as Dragon Fantasy Book II in a PS Vita and PlayStation 3 compilation, the series’ concluding chapter will now make its first appearance on Nintendo platforms as part of Choice Publishing’s catalog.

The publisher also announced the upcoming release of Shift DX, a compilation of all levels previously featured in the popular Armor Games-developed Flash puzzlers Shift and Shift 2. Shift DX will also include a level editor, allowing players to create and share custom stage designs via QR codes.

A spinoff of the Shift games, Shifting World, launched for the Nintendo 3DS at retail in 2012. Shift DX is coming “soon” to the 3DS in both retail and digital editions.

Last up on Choice Publishing’s release schedule is Drive!Drive!Drive!, a unique racing game from developer Different Cloth. Drive!Drive!Drive! challenges players to race across multiple tracks at once while assigning AI-controlled drivers to unoccupied lanes. The game is due to launch for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Steam.

Release dates for Choice Publishing’s upcoming games were not announced.
