The Jaguar F-Type won’t be any quicker for the 2017 model year, but it’ll definitely be easier on your wallet.
Coventry, UK’s finest sports car manufacturer, has announced official pricing information for the 2017 F-Type Coupe and Convertible, and they start at $61,400 and $65,400, respectively. That’s $3,600 and $2,700 less than their 2016 model year equivalents, which will give their owners plenty of extra cash to spend on tires and gas. None of these prices include the $995 destination charge, however.
Despite the price cut, the duo will come with more standard features than they do today, such as a new six-way adjustable “partially electric” seat, valet mode, and solar-attenuating windshield glass, which reduces the intensity of the sun’s rays inside the cabin. The Coupe and Convertible will continue to offer a Meridian surround sound system, navigation, satellite radio, leather seats, and Jaguar’s InControl app suite as standard as well.
The entry-level hardtop and droptop will continue to be powered by a 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 that produces 340 very loud horsepower. And unlike their V8-powered brother the F-Type R — which only offers an eight-speed “QuickShift” automatic — the base models can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

Though the MSRPs haven’t been released yet, the 2017 Jaguar F-Type lineup will once again include the F-Type S, the F-Type S AWD, and the F-Type R, alongside the entry-level offerings. Engine specs are still under wraps, but we expect them to remain unchanged as they have in the rest of the lineup.
As a refresher, the 2016 F-Type S features the same 3.0-liter V6 as the regular F-Type, but it’s been retuned to offer 380 hp. Power output remains unchanged in the AWD variant, but in the F-Type R, a growling, rip-roaring V8 is charged with moving the car forward. The 5.0-liter supercharged powerplant rockets the AWD car forward with 550 hp, ensuring the trip to 60 mph comes in just 3.9 seconds.
The 2017 F-Type will growl its way into U.S. showrooms in the late spring of 2016.
