The upcoming Wii U remastered edition of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess may feature some extra, all-new content, which will be unlocked by a new amiibo that’s coming out at the same time. Word of the feature leaked today via a short-lived listing for a bundle pairing the game and the figure on Amazon France.
Though the unreleased information has since been removed, a NeoGAF forum-goer saved and translated the leaky copy. According to the offer, the new Wolf Link and Midna amiibo will unlock a dungeon called “The Twilight Cave.” Other Zelda series amiibo figures will unlock other bonuses, such as “regenerating your life, or getting arrows for your bow.” The Wolf Link and Midna amiibo will also record players save data, which be used in some way with Nintendo’s upcoming Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U.
According to Eurogamer, the listing also reveals the remaster will add something called “Hero mode,” which would not be connected to the amiibo, but did not include any details on it.

On Thursday afternoon, the North American version of the bundle said the amiibo would add extra bonuses, but did not specify what kind. Many North American only have a listing for the $60 game+amiibo bundle version of Twilight Princess. Stores in other regions have a $50 dollar stand-alone version, which matches the price point of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD.
With only the word of European retail listings, a notoriously unreliable source of information, to back it, fans and interested customers should take this with two, maybe even three grains of salt, no matter how plausible and/or interesting the notion sounds.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD comes to Wii U March 4, almost ten years after the original.
