Building custom maps and data layers for Tableau is now a totally visual experience. Tableau 9.3 includes support for Mapbox Studio, just in time for Tableau’s mapping month!
Tableau Zen Masters and beta users are already using Studio to create amazing maps of flooding in the UK, traffic on national rail networks, drone imagery for insurance claims, and a recreation of the cautionary cinematic classic WarGames:
Nuclear exchanges modeled in Tableau. The only winning move is not to play.
We’ll blog more examples and documentation closer to Tableau 9.3’s public release. In the meantime, check out Chris Toomey and Craig Bloodworth’s guide to using Studio with Tableau, including a look at the APIs that make it possible.
Want to add custom maps or massive spatial data to Tableau? Check out our Tableau maps page, and show us what you’re building @Mapbox.
