This wedding registry site lets you pick out gifts room by room

There are honeymoon-centric wedding registries that let couples get cash for their fabulous vacations. Since people are waiting longer to get married and often already living together beforehand, many decide to skip traditional items like blenders and blankets and instead seek help funding plane tickets to Bali. But for others, the wedding registry is a chance to upgrade from the chipped plates and mismatched glasses they’ve had for a decade. There are tons of registries that specialize in a mix of home goods, experience gifts like cooking classes, and straight-up cash money, but Blueprint Registry is hoping to standout with its room-by-room feature.

With so many online options, not every couple grabs a registry scanner from their nearest housewares store and goes to town. When presented with a grid of stock pots, coffee makers, and flatware, it can be overwhelming to figure out just what you need. To help the newly engaged sift through all the clutter, Blueprint organizes everything by room and presents it in a form that lives up to its name. The kitchen diagram has a table, appliances, and countertops. Hover over the image of a cutting board and knives, and the word “cutlery” pops up. Clicking takes you to a slew of options from Amazon, Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, and so on. If you find a pricey set you love, you can click on it to add it to your registry.

Before you actually add it, you have a few options. You can indicate which half of the couple really wants that $900 block of knives and enable group gifting, so a bunch of people can contribute to your decadent cutlery.

There’s also a Blueprint button, which you add to your bookmarks bar. It lets you add items from other websites if you’re suddenly struck by the need to add a pair of socks with an astronaut on them to your registry. It’s a handy feature, but it does require some added steps. You must add it to a “room” (Laundry room? Bedroom?) and pick a subcategory (Washer and dryer? Closet?) before you can add it to the your gift list.

The Blueprint registry is a pretty unique setup, and it might prompt you to add some items you might not necessarily thought of. Who wants to buy me a rug?
