Activision is just over two months away from the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, and today the publisher released a new gameplay video showing off many of the series’ best-known villains, as well as a healthy dose of the Turtles kicking ass.
“The war is coming, my sons,” says Splinter as a first-person shot shows Shredder taking on all four Turtles at once. “These challenges will be the greatest our family has ever faced, but we must not fear, for the true strength of a ninja comes not from the absence of fear, but the mastery of it.”

Classic villain Bebop makes his return — although his clumsiness suggests that he won’t be a particularly hard opponent — as does Rocksteady, who is briefly shown fighting the Turtles inside a subway station. A battle against Armaggon looks like a high point, as the enormous shark swings his tail circle while all four Turtles simultaneously attack.
“Remember what I taught you, my sons,” Splinter continues. “It is when we are together that we are the strongest”
The trailer also showcases some of the team’s classic catchphrases, and you can expect a story that stays true to what makes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so special. Its script is penned by IDW’s Tom Waltz, who has worked on many TMNT comics, as well as adaptations of Silent Hill, Duke Nukem, Dead Rising, and even KISS Kids, because of course that’s a thing.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan launches for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC on May 24 according to the trailer, though the official release lists a May 27 launch. If you can’t wait for either of those dates to play something from PlatinumGames, the studio’s co-developed Star Fox Zero is out new month on Wii U.
