The intense buzz over Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been calming since its epic theatrical debut in December, but there’s still more intergalactic fun to be had. Next month, the film will be available in multiple formats, and Disney is prepping us now with a glimpse at the bonus content we have to look forward to. A new trailer features deleted scenes that will be among the movie’s special features.
For fans, owning The Force Awakens as a digital download or on disc isn’t really a tough sell, but Disney did a good job of it anyway. The trailer is full of suspense and excitement, even for those who already know what happens (pretty much everybody, right?). Perhaps the most important purpose it serves is reminding everyone that the film will be available on digital HD on April 1 and on Blu-ray on April 5.

The trailer largely focuses on Kylo Ren, Stormtroopers, and a trapped Han Solo (Harrison Ford), but the film’s home entertainment release will include additional scenes as well. Advanced copies of the Blu-ray have already gone out, and there are six deleted scenes, according to Uproxx. Fans will get a chance to see (spoiler alert!) Doctor Kalonia (played by Harriet Walter) reassuring Rey (Daisy Ridley), Leia (Carrie Fisher) receiving information on Poe’s crash landing, and more Kylo Ren, among other action.
The digital download may have one more deleted scene as well. The film’s editors, Mary Jo Markey and Maryann Brandon, previously told The Independent that there would be seven such scenes in all. We’ll find out for sure in April.
In addition to deleted scenes, special features will also include footage from table reads, a look at how BB-8 was created, and even a making-of documentary. The question for Star Wars diehards now is simply whether they want to go disc or digital.
