Outlook for Android and iOS gets support for Evernote, Facebook, and Wunderlist

Microsoft’s acquisition of Sunrise Calendar is starting to pay off. The team joined Outlook several months ago to port some of Sunrise’s most popular features in an effort to produce one unified app, and today’s announcement is likely to be the first of many connected to that effort.

Microsoft launched Calendar Apps, which will bring support for a number of apps to the Outlook Calendar. Among the first are Evernote, Facebook, and Wunderlist, but the plan is to add many more soon.

For Facebook, you’ll see all your friends’ birthdays and events you’re invited to or have accepted. You can also RSVP, and view event details and location information within Outlook. If you need additional information, you can always choose to open the event in the Facebook app.

The Evernote calendar will show all your notes as long as there is a reminder set, and you can easily open a selected note with the Evernote app to make changes.

Lastly, Wunderlist is much the same as Evernote. All your to-dos will appear in Outlook as long as there is a due date specified. You’ll be able to see the notes associated with the to-do list, and just like Evernote, you can open it in the Wunderlist app.

You will obviously need to link your accounts for each app with Outlook in order for the information to get imported, but you’ll only need to do that once.

Microsoft said that it wants to add more apps in the future, and is encouraging users to submit app ideas by using the Suggest a Feature option within the Outlook app. You can find it by opening Settings, and selecting Help & Support, followed by Suggest a Feature.

Microsoft says the update is already live in the App Store and Google Play.
