HBO renews 3 shows for 2017 including Game of Thrones

Sometimes, you just know what you want, and for HBO, it’s more Game of ThronesVeep, and Silicon Valley. The premium network revealed today that it has renewed the three hit series for 2017 — before they’ve even returned for their upcoming seasons.

The shows are all set to return April 24, with the longest-running of the group being Game of Thrones. The fantasy drama series will kick off its 10-episode sixth season, meaning that the renewal will put its season count at lucky number seven. The series, based on the books by George R.R. Martin, will continue following the kingdom’s dramatic and brutal battles for power.

The youngest series of the three, Silicon Valley, is currently entering its third season and looks ahead to season 4 in 2017. The comedy centers on people working in the tech industry and all of their successes and failures. The cast includes Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Jimmy O. Yang, and Suzanne Cryer.

Veep is on the cusp of its fifth season, so 2017 will see the comedy enter its sixth. Starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the show follows President Selina Meyer’s unconventional and hilarious political career. She’s joined by a strong ensemble cast, including Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole, and Sam Richardson.

As wonderful as it is to know that more of each series is coming, what’s even more exciting at the moment is focusing on the storylines set to unfold over the coming weeks. April 24 should make for a great night of TV, starting with the Game of Thrones premiere at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Silicon Valley at 10:00 p.m., and then Veep at 10:30 p.m.
