Heist-oriented quests, new stunts part of online updates for Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar announced that it has “some massive, feature-rich updates” in store for Grand Theft Auto V‘s online multiplayer mode, revealing that GTA Online players can expect to see new contraband trafficking missions and vehicular stunt tracks in the coming months.

Inspired by the success of last year’s Executives and Other Criminals upgrade, GTA Online will soon add a collection of heist-oriented quests that focus on multiplayer collaboration.

“You’ll be working with your team from a selection of big, new properties that serve as both headquarters for your Organization and warehouses for your hot merchandise,” Rockstar explains. “Manage inventory directly from your HQ, arranging to buy and sell anything from jewels to narcotics to medical supplies from a range of nefarious suppliers. Expect the unexpected as you head out with your team to make each pickup. Keep your stock in mint condition to maintain value and sell at a profit — and watch for raids on your warehouses between shipments!”

GTA Online devotees can also look forward to “a major update to the wild world of GTA Online racing and stunting that will introduce a new realm of creative and fun games.” Future updates will roll out a collection of new vehicles and gear suited for high-flying stunts. Players can take advantage of these new items in custom-crafted race courses via GTA Online‘s Content Creator mode.

Screenshots released alongside today’s announcement show gigantic metal race tracks snaking around towering skyscrapers, giving an early glimpse at what Rockstar calls “an evolution of stunting, racing, and trials-style creations.”

Other GTA Online additions in the works include new Adversary Modes and new maps for the recent “In and Out” gameplay variant, along with a collection of “fun, competitive, team-based modes to come.” All future GTA Online updates will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V.
