Apple’s iPad Pro is the Cadillac of tablets. Available with a 9.7-inch or 12.9-inch screen, the Pro may sound absurdly big, but after a few minutes of use it feels like the tablet you’ve always wanted. Although the Apple Store offers the entry-level 32GB models for $599 and $799, respectively, today only Best Buy is taking $100 off all iPad Pro models and colors from the 32GB model to the 256GB tablet.

If you’ve never used an iPad Pro, we describe it as a laptop replacement for millennials who don’t really need or want a full-fledged PC. Reading magazines, comic books, or other media on the tablet’s massive screen is enjoyable and feels even more natural than it does on an iPad Mini because the iPad Pro is capable of offering a two-page view when used horizontally.
Our reviews: iPad Pro 9.7 and iPad Pro 12.9
Videos and movies look equally stunning on the Pro’s pixel-dense screen, which is large enough to satisfy your Netflix marathons in bed without crushing your chest halfway through a series. When paired with the Apple Pencil, the iPad Pro is a game changer for digital artists. Although it works with third-party styli, Apple packed its Pencil with a lot of pressure sensing tech, which isn’t available in other styli.
Although we think that the Pro can be used as a desktop replacement, there are a few things to keep in mind. If you normally have multiple apps launched simultaneously, switching between numerous apps with the iPad Pro is somewhat of a headache. Despite the tablet’s new split-screen option, we found it works best as a work device if you’re able to alter your workflow to its flavor. In other words, you’ll have to focus on one task at a time when using the iPad Pro.

Otherwise, the iPad Pro’s raw processing power won’t disappoint. It packs Apple’s A9X CPU and 4GB of RAM, which do a bang-up job of imitating a traditional laptop’s processing power. And if you like eye candy, its screen really pops with 2,732 × 2,048 pixels, which is more than any other iOS device to date.
Apple’s rated 10-hour battery is also on par with the results from our battery tests.
The iPad Pro won’t work for everyone, but if you’re already a light laptop user or just looking for the best, giant-sized tablet out there — the iPad Pro is for you.
