Star Wars’ John Boyega Deepfakes Every Character in the Cats Trailer –

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Pacific Rim Uprising star John Boyega shared a deepfake video that casts him in every role of the Cats film.

Boyega shared the cut of the trailer in which he plays every role on Instagram. He captioned the video, “The litter box scene was absolutely disgusting to shoot.” Prior to the video starting, Boyega says, “I saw the trailer for Cats, and I said to myself, ‘You know what, I could have killed that.'”

Cats is an adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical of the same name, which itself is based on the work of beloved writer T.S. Eliot. As of writing, Cats holds a 20 percent on Rotten Tomatoes among critics. However, the audience score on the review aggregation site is somewhat higher at 53 percent. Having only grossed $69 million worldwide, at the time of writing, against a budget of over $95 million, Cats is also already considered one of the biggest box office bombs ever, having failed to even make its cost of production back.

Directed by Tom Hooper, Cats stars James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson and Francesca Hayward. The film is in theaters now.
