Camera stand mount for Nintendo Switch

large_preview_Switch_Mount_-_frame.png

A mount that can be used for attaching the Nintendo Switch to a camera stand with a 1/4″ screw thread, which is the type of thread used by modern cameras. It uses the Switch’s locking mechanism to secure it in place, and ensure that the Switch cannot fall out. The Switch stick a little forward to make sure it can be inserted or removed easily and make sure the USB port is kept free.

Add a spring to make the locking mechanism work. A cheap ballpoint pen’s spring that’s cut in half will work. Some screws, nuts and bolts are also needed. The the 4 bigger holes in the frame are made for M3 nuts and bolts (about 3cm long or so). The smaller holes are for small screws. About 1.5mm-2mm should do. The frame has a slot on either end for these bolts, which allows for a few millimeters of adjustion.

The locking mechanisms have a small support plate attached in the 3D drawing and the STL. This is to help the printing process, since otherwise they would start out with only one corner touching the printbed. This plate should be cut away after printing.
