Barnabus deck killing it in ranked wild – July 21, 2022 at 11:55PM

One of my friends has been trying to make a viable wild Barnabus deck since Barnabus came out, and Renathal turned out to be the key. He compiled a deck that we’ve both made modifications to and tested in ranked wild. This is a spreadsheet I made compiling data separated by what rank I was in at the time, but here’s the tl;dr:

· Tracked games = 115

· Win rate = 61-75% (plat = 61%, gold = 75%, silver = 74%)

· Avg turns = 10-12

· Avg duration = 8-10 min

This is obviously a very small sample size and only takes into account silver-platinum; I imagine the win rate will go down further as I advance in the ranks. If you try it out, comment below to give some more data! A few points of advice if you do:

1. Keep as many of your draw cards as possible until after you play Barnabus
2. Even if it’s looking bad, don’t give up. After Barnabus goes off, you can have turns where you entirely fill a board with (mostly high attack) minions
3. Using Elise, you can get an OTK combo (Alexstraza, double Alexstraza the Life-Binder) if your opponent doesn’t have armor or a taunt up (or you’re able to get rid of it). Alternatively, use Elise to get a second Zephrys or Dragonqueen Alexstraza
4. Be really careful about using Oondasta as your fifth quest trigger (I’ve definitely overkilled with it and immediately drawn out Barnabus from hand without triggering the battlecry)
