Fluke 287 & 289 battery cover latch

Fluke 189 II / 287 / 289 series of multimeters has precisely two major flaws:

1) the backup Panasonic supercapacitor used to preserve date/time while changing the battery that’s prone to leaking, and

2) the battery cover latch that tends to crumble into bits like a piece of damp humus after a few battery cycles or contact with a sharp screwdriver

3D printers can’t help you with the issue #1, sadly, but they can fix issue #2 fairly easily. Just print the STL, slot it into its receptacle on the back of the cover, and that’s it.

I recommend printing with an SLA printer, as tolerances are fairly tight.
