Respirator Mask – quick to print, dip in hot water to form fit

  • Still WIP, probably too thin and fragile.
  • Use only if exposure can’t be avoided and proper equipment is unavailable.
  • This mask is NOT approved for any use by any agency, use at your own risk.
  • We’ve failed to find filter materials that would block the banana scent used in fit-testing
  • Print in PLA (no supports, raft doesn’t matter)
  • Print mask and cup separately (mask quality will deteriorate otherwise)
  • Printing in a light color helps see that the mask is flush with your skin
  • Dip printed mask in hot water and form fit it to your face, repeat as necessary
  • Paint the mask to seal the tiny cracks that are present in all 3d prints
  • Skin must touch the mask in a continuous line around nose and mouth
  • Use two rubber bands to secure the mask onto your face, more tension will help
