Online map with 1000 POIs – March 6, 2023 at 04:33PM

Hey guys, I am a total noob for anything related to map making and GIS, so please excuse my probably quite simple questions (and I’m not even sure I’m in the right subreddit).

I am trying to prepare an online “map” (base should be preferably Openstreetmap) where a lot of (probably several 100 or even 1000) points of interest should be manually added by the owners of the map (not by the users!). I’m looking for a proper tool/program which is able to handle the following requirements:

1) It should be able to handle several 1000 POIs on the map

2) It should be possible to categorize these POIs in several groups/categories, each category having a different design.

3) Eventually the map should be implemented in a website and users of the website should be able to browse the categories and the POIs (however, the users should not be able to add/edit content).

4) After clicking on a POI the name of the POI should open and if possible additional information/hyperlinks can be added (by the owners of the map)

5) The content (= the POIs and the additional information) should not be easily copiable by the users by simply downloading all the provided info.

6) Preferably it should be relatively easy to use and free

I already tried MyMaps (Google Maps) but the number of possible POIs per map is limited. Additionally it is quite easy to download all the POIs. I also tried uMaps but I’m not entirely convinced that this is really the best option for me.
