Anchor Hocking (or Pyrex) replacement lids

large_preview_97mmLid.png

Anchor Hocking makes a very nice set of glass storage containers. One cup, two cups, and four cups. Pyrex carries the same thing. The only problem is that the lids wear out and need to be replaced. You’ll find the replacement lids for about $2.25 each online. While not too expensive, I was annoyed enough create these replacement lids that I could print anytime I needed.

At first, I tried printing in PETG because it is a bit more flexible than PLA. Unfortunately, it is not flexible enough and these lids don’t work as well as the originals. Then I tried Sainsmart TPU, and the lids came out wonderful. Very flexible, and fit quite well. Google printing with TPU and you can do it too!

My wife said the 150mm (4 cup) needed a deeper lid, so that is what the v5 version is. I have not printed it yet because I ran out of TPU, but I’m fairly sure it will be good.

As with any 3d printed object that is in contact with food, it should be coated with a food safe coating.
