Shower Hook with Extender Loop

large_preview_Shower_Hooks_1.jpg

This was one of my earliest designs when I started 3D printing. The suction cup hook I had for my towel would not stick and I immediately saw a practical use for a 3D print in my home. We use these all the time.

Once my young daughter started showering independently, she found that she still had trouble reaching her towel. She came up with the idea for the loop to use with an additional hook to lower the kids’ towels. We now have a system of hooks that works well for the whole family. Inside the shower works well for washcloths too.

I designed this with Wolfram Mathematica since at the time it was my only 3D design software.

I printed with 0.25 layer height, 15% infill, 3 top and bottom layers, and 3 outline/perimeter shells. No raft. No supports. I can fit two hooks and two loops on my print bed for a single job.

Hook at the top is 1 inch wide (approx. 25 mm). The models are 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) thick. The hook is approximately 216 mm long and 95 mm wide. The loop is 63.5 mm x 63.5 mm.
